Discharge

Exit means the definitive departure of the patient from the centre. Your attending physician explains to you the evolution of your state of health, the need or not for external medical follow-up and issues you the medical prescriptions to ensure continuity of care and, if necessary, the medical certificates;

  • It is pronounced by the director of the center (on the proposal of the head of department) when the attending physician considers that the patient’s state of health no longer requires hospitalization;
  • In the event of refusal to leave the establishment, the director is entitled to invoice the patient directly for the costs inherent in keeping him in the establishment;
  • The ordinary outing cannot take place after 4:30 p.m. and it takes place every working day, except for exceptions by order of the Director of the Center;
  • Newborn babies generally leave the maternity ward at the same time as their mothers, except in special cases (premature babies or force majeure);
  • In the event of social problems, the patient is taken care of by the hospital social worker, failing that the person in charge of reception;
  • The head nurse of the hospital department takes all measures to inform the patient’s family and prepare the necessary documents;
  • In certain specific cases, the Management of the Center informs the following entities or competent authorities of the discharge of certain categories of patients, namely:
    • The competent authority for a non-civilian patient;
    • Accommodation establishment for minors covered by social centres;
    • The authorities that ordered the compulsory hospitalization of people with psychiatric disorders;
    • The public prosecutor and the director of the penitentiary establishment for, respectively, persons placed in police custody and prisoners.
  • It is pronounced following a medical decision and after prior agreement of the host hospital by the appropriate means (telephone in case of emergency);
  • A home transfer may be authorized by the department head doctor if the department doctors find that a hospitalized patient is in a particularly serious condition (dying or below all therapeutic resources). The patient or his family expresses the wish in writing.
  • The prescriptions of Dahir No. l-68-980 of 31.10.1969 relating to burials, exhumations and transport of bodies are scrupulously respected;
  • As soon as the death is certified, the discharge is made while guaranteeing the transport of the mortal remains to the morgue;
  • What falls to the family of the deceased:
    • Formalities for declaring death to the Civil Registry
    • Transportation and burial of the remains;
  • Presentation of the burial permit to the administration in order to recover the body of the deceased;
  • The use of ambulances is prohibited. The transport of the body must be carried out in a mortuary van;
  • Sums of money and/or valuables are returned upon presentation of a power of attorney and a certified copy of the certificate of inheritance;
  • The duplicate of the death certificate can be issued to one of the beneficiaries upon written request addressed to the Director of the hospital accompanied by a certified copy of the certificate of inheritance and a power of attorney.
➔ Temporary discharge during hospitalization
  • The request for temporary release is made by the patient;
  • Depending on the patient’s state of health and length of stay;
  • When the patient does not return within the time allowed, he will be declared discharged by the administration. Therefore, he can only be readmitted through the ordinary admission procedure;
  • The discharge form is drawn up by the head nurse of the department and must be signed by the attending physician.

Discharge formalities

1. Obtain your "medical discharge decision" from the hospitalization department;
2. Contact the BAF with the following documents:

- Exit ticket;
- Appointment for a possible consultation or treatment.

What's important to you !

If you believe that you have paid sums wrongly, you can address a request to the Director of the Center in order to restore them;
If you are the victim of voluntary or involuntary blows and injuries and/or sexual violence, treated by one of our hospitals, you benefit, at your request or at the request of the judicial authorities, from a medico-legal certificate in accordance with the regulations in force;
If you believe that you have suffered damage attributable to the care activity, inform the administration of the circumstances and causes of this damage.
Do not forget to present to the administration the certificate of deposit of money or your valuables issued during your admission in order to recover them;
In addition, it should be noted that a recovery procedure according to the regulations in force is triggered vis-à-vis any patient who has not settled his administrative situation.
