Missions
In accordance with Article 3 of Law No. 70.13 relating to university hospitals, the CHUSM's mission is to:
Care
➧ Provide, with or without accommodation, essentially specialized diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation services; taking care of the sick, injured and parturients and monitoring their state of health;
➧ Provide services for the diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases;
➧ Constitute, in the care sector, the tertiary hospital reference level for public and private health establishments, located in its catchment area;
➧ Develop cooperation and communication mechanisms with these institutions and contribute to their realization and implementation.
La formation
➧ Provide practical, general and specialized training for students and research students in medicine, pharmacy and dentistry in the public and private sectors;
➧ Contribute to:
➔ The basic practical training of nurses, midwives and other paramedics and all other executives called upon to work in the health system (with public and private training establishments);
➔ The continuing education of health professionals in coordination with government authorities, professional health organizations and learned societies concerned.
Scientific research, expertise and innovation
➧ Contribute to:
➔ Scientific health research in accordance with public policies in this area and in collaboration with research establishments;
➔ Medical Technology Assessment;
➔ Innovation in the field of health and constitute a reference level for the public authorities, in terms of clinical research. To this end, the center concludes with the training establishments concerned partnership agreements approved by the competent government authorities.
➧ Carry out biomedical and technical forensic expertise.
Public health
➧ Participate in:
➔ Actions to promote health, prevention and health security;
➔ The organization and medical regulation of pre-hospital and hospital emergencies;
➧ Ensure the health education of its users, organize awareness campaigns for their benefit and promote therapeutic education;
➧ Put in place devices to ensure patient safety.
